What do you do with yarn remnants? I've been coveting this small ball left over from one of the first scarves I knit (gifted). I love its texture and the specs of yellow and maroon and orange. I've lost the tag but I'm pretty sure it's Jo Sharp. I'm wondering what to do with it. I never made a swatch, so maybe I’ll knit up a square. Or maybe I should add it to a future project, like a hat or another scarf?

I have been wondering the same thing. Up until recently, I haven't had too many remnants lying around, but they seem to have multiplied in the last couple of months.

Soulemamma knitted a great blanket (http://soulemama.typepad.com/soulemama/2006/02/a_year_in_the_m.html) and I have been contemplating saving up my odds and ends for a more ad hoc version.

If you know any sweet young ladies who play with dolls, you could knit a miniature blanket for their "babies". My girls love it when I use up leftover skeins for doll blankets and sweaters.
