The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

It’s tempting to want to start new projects and stray from my current knitting plans.
Last night, as I cast-on for the second jaywalker sock, I decided that my goal is to keep things simple.
Knit only one pair of socks at a time. Avoid distractions. Stay focused. Remind myself that what I’m knitting now is satisfying and knit in the moment.
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. -Stephen Covey

Thanks for the post - I needed it! Really!Sometimes yes, we knitters read blogs for technique, ideas, sources, etc. But sometimes we need to be kept in line - that's me, stop starting so many friggin' things that I don't finish...
(Started w. some Shelridge sock yarn, got distracted by some Claudia's handpainted sock yarn, then distracted by Socks that Rock - gawd!)

Gosh, I love that photo. Even after knitting six pairs of socks last year for all six children (yes, all ours!)and swearing off socks for awhile, I love that photo. Any way you could print it up, glue it onto notecards and sell them? It has such a peaceful simplicity about it.

Great advice. The socks are turning out lovely!
I caved in and ordered a skein of the river sock yarn. Thanks for the inspiration!
